Vithoba Temple, Varsoli, Alibaug, Raigad, Maharashtra, India

Vithoba Temple of Varsoli that attracts thousands of worshippers is situated adjacent to Alibaug city of Raigad District, Maharashtra, India. As this temple is designed like Vitthal Temple of Pandharpur, Varsoli is hailed as Prati Pandharpur. Temple is 243 years old, erected in 1779, by Narmadabai Angre – daughter in law of Sarkhel Kanhoji Angre. Shri Vithoba Devsthan Trust reconstructed Vithoba Temple in year 2006.

Reconstructed temple is designed to look like Vitthal Rukmini Temple of Pandharpur. Garud Temple, Tulashi Vrundavan and Deepmal is in the front of the temple. Temple has Vitthal Rukmini’s bedroom, palanquin room and Garuda Khamb in grand hall of temple. The temple is 100 feet wide and 40 feet long. The innermost part of the temple is built of stone.
