Father of modern Marathi poetry Kavi Keshavsut or Shri Krishnaji Keshav Damle was born 136 years ago in 1886 in Malgund village of Ratnagiri district in Maharashtra, India. The Konkan Marathi Sahitya Parishad has built a Memorial at his birthplace. The place is 2 kilometers away from Ganpatipule. Their birthplace is very well preserved, everything is neat and clean. And the place is very calm. Here we can see most of their poems are carved on granite stones. This place is feast for Marathi Poetry Lovers.
