Konkan Railway Ganpati Special Train Time Table 2024

Indian Railways run special trains on Konkan Railroad Network for Ganesh Festival in 2024. Chakarmanis now have reserved and unreserved special trains to visit their village for Ganesh festival.

The annual Ganesh festival is one of highly spirited and biggest religious festivals. Ganesha represents
success and wisdom. Idol made of earthy clay is carried during a procession on the first day of the Ganesh
Chaturthi. Coloured powder is spread to welcome the Ganesha and chanted “Ganpati Bappa Morya”. Ganesh
festival begins on Saturday, 7th September 2024 and lasts for eleven days this year.

Ganeshotsav in Konkan is an extraordinary event. People of Konkan are eagerly awaiting to welcome his beloved Bappa. All are in festive mood. Devotees bring idol of Ganpati to their homes on Ganesh Chaturthi. They
worship Ganesha for six days. Folk dance, also called as Jakhadi (or Balya Dance), is performed before
deity. On 6th Day, idol of Ganesha is immersed in water.

The majority of the Konkankar reside in Mumbai, Pune and other cities for employment. They throng to their
village for the Ganesh festivities. Indian Railways runs Ganpati Special Trains on Konkan Railroad Network
in co-ordination with Central Railway and Western Railway. This year Konkan gets extra 242 reserved train services and 36 unreserved train services, making of total 278 Ganpati Festival Special Trains.
